The Academic Retreat for Teachers gives teachers, administrators, and board members a chance to re-kindle their passion for learning while exploring the foundations of a liberal arts education with colleagues from around the country.
The Retreat is not a workshop, though retreatants do benefit greatly from conversations about each other’s experiences. Rather it gives participants the opportunity to taste Truth as it is found throughout the typical liberal education curriculum – in Language, History, Mathematics, Science, Literature, Music, and Theology. Great authors such as Plato and St. Thomas, Newman, Dawson, Sayers, Shakespeare, Euclid, and Descartes will challenge and inspire. Small group discussions led by master teachers will foster encounters with the great traditions and with fellow participants.

The 2024-2025 cohort is now full. Check back later if interested in the 2025-2026 cohort.
This 10-month executive coaching program supports school leaders who are in the process of renewing their schools. The 15 participants in the cohort will benefit from the personal mentorship of two veteran educators with over five decades of combined experience with liberal arts education.
The course will focus on the Five Pillars of School Leadership:
Each month different aspects of each pillar will be studied in depth and participants will come away with concrete plans and support as they move through the process of renewal. Participants will be guided through exercises that will offer substantial practical tools for immediate use in the following areas:
Format: The program will begin with an orientation retreat in July. Subsequent meetings will take place on the first and third Tuesday of each month, 60-90 minutes each. Participants will also receive a monthly half-hour, one-on-one coaching call with a program leader.
Application process: Due to the limited size of this program (15), the cohort will be determined on an application basis. Preference will be given to those who display a sincere desire to learn and grow and whose experience will contribute to the collective wisdom of the cohort.

An Integrated Hybrid of In-Person and Online Professional Development for Teachers in the Redevelopment of Instructional Methods in order to Support Learning Loss in Students
The learning loss and experimental teaching methods all stakeholders in education suffered through the last two years was not just simply a negative experience in our personal or professional lives. Like many trials of life, this particular one also helped the education world focus on essentials and get back to basics. Thus, we find a silver lining in the cloud of COVID. Consequently, programs aiming to recover learning loss and redeveloping teachers in their art and instructional methods have been a truly revitalizing effect of our trial. Teachers going through this program are experiencing great and renewed joy in teaching.
This Professional Development Workshop Series is a carefully crafted program developed by master teachers for classroom teachers in order to aid in the redevelopment of instructional methods in order to recover learning loss in students. This professional development series consists of 100 hours of direct instructional time and related project activities and collaborative sessions. The series takes place through a hybrid of in-person and on-line courses and seminars across three academic semesters.
